Langata Police Station - Security in Langata is relatively safe during the day from 7:00am to 7:00pm. During the evenings the security situation has provd a bit tricky with a number of reportd car jackings and muggings especially in the recent past.
Kibera DO's Office - Kibera has proved to be a melting pot of crime due to the high poverty levels among the youth. The area is relatively safe during dy time but it is almost impossible to visit the are at night. Police from both Langata and the Kibera DO's office carry out patrols which often end prematurely paving the way for many vices.
Neighbourhood Watch Schemes
Most estates in Langata have a neighbourhod security association with monthly contributions ranging from Ksh 500 to Ksh1,000 per month

Langata - Housing comprises of three, two and single bedrooms with rent ranging from Ksh 25,000, Ksh 18,000 to Ksh 12,000 respectively. Servant quarters and bed-sitters go for approximately Ksh 7,000.
Kibera - Housing comprises of thre, two and single bedrooms which range from Ksh 15,000, Ksh 10,000 and Ksh8,000 respectively. Some single bedrooms at Karanja Estate go for Ksh 2,000 per month
